Hugs, hugs, hugs, Larissa. Take care of yourself and the kiddo and the mice and Geordie! (There were a lot of SPCA animals moved from N.O. to Houston last night - the FVT was planning to go down and volunteer, but dumped a bunch of money on them instead!)
Lots of thoughts and prayers for you and everyone in the path! The house is insured. It can be replaced. But we need you safely back with us!

*UPDATE*
Guys - I spoke with Larissa earlier today - she's safe, but her house and her town took some major damage. I've posted a few details on my blog, and so did Alison Kent. I'll keep updating there and here, because Alison, Emma and I are planning to organize something to help her and her family out during this time. She's not sure when she'll be able to get online again to update here, but she said to thank all of you for your thoughts & prayers, and to keep them coming.

Larissa, I’m new here, but I certainly hope and pray for your safety, and will check back to see if you (and your house) survived, especially considering that from the weather reports (while bad) it doesn’t seem that Katrina’s landfall was as bad as it could possibly have been.

Just spoke with Ris and her and Brennan on on their way to visit Sis-in-law for a short time. Will do her good to have someone to visit with and Brennan someone to play with. No news on beloved cat but Ris, Brennan, Goerdie and 3 mice are well as possible under the circumstances. Lynn, let me know if you need Rissa's cell#. It is wonderful to see how many hearts my daughter has touched. She is truly a special person and I love her beyond belief. Mom

Many thanks to the kind
person/persons who had ris' number and let her know to call me. It was a huge relief to hear from her Tuesday and to now have her number.
Having just been there 2 weeks ago watching the news is unbelieveable. Like her Mother I am proud of of our children and hope that when they get to go home things will work out better than the what we are seeing
for the rest of the area.
