08/20/2005: "A Breakthrough!"

I have been struggling so hard with one of my WIPs. I finally gave up the arm-wrestling with one of them after it thoroughly kicked my ass, and I've been working on the other one intended for Temptation (Modern Extra.) It was giving me trouble, too, but all of a sudden, the characters gave me a huge break. They just opened up and told me who they were. It was awesome. Ideas started pouring out...ideas about GMC, scenes, characterization. Ideas came so quickly that I had trouble writing them down fast enough.

I constantly worry that I will never have another good idea or that I will never get a decent character developed again, and then it seems like at the very last minute, the very moment I'm about ready to throw in the towel, something clicks.

I'm SO relieved. And I'm ready to kick butt on this manuscript!

man, don't you just LOVE it when that happens? The "why didn't I think of that BEFORE" moments. The times when the keyboard or pen can't move fast enough to put it all down on paper!
