This myth always makes me wonder how many idiots have thrown their poor cats from high places just to see if the myth is true. Let me just save some innocent feline from injury or death right now.
While cats do have an amazing sense of balance, they do not always land on their feet. If they fall or are dropped from a short distance to the ground, they often cannot right themselves in time to land on their feet. If they fall or are dropped from greater heights, they have a high probability of landing on their feet, but they also risk severe injury or death.
